6-Benzylaminopurine, benzyl adenine, BAP or BA is a first generation cytokinin plant growth regulator influencing plant growth and development, setting blossoms and stimulating fruit richness by stimulating cell division. It is an inhibitor of respiratory kinase in plants, and increases post-harvest life of green vegetables. Influence of cytokinin as 6-benzylaminopurine (BAP) in combination with other methods on postharvest green color retention on broccoli heads and asparagus spears, showed positive results for quality retention.

Uses & Benefits:

1) Increase female flowers quantity - Spray on the leaf surface with 15mg/kg of 6-Benzylaminopurine soup in the 2-leaf stage of autumn cucumber seedling.

2) Improve germination rate - In summer and fall when the temperature is very high, soak the lettuce seeds three minutes with 100mg/kg of 6-Benzylaminopurine soup.

3) Promote melon growth - After 2-3 days of cucumber female flowering, spray on the melon with 500-1000mg/kg of 6-Benzylaminopurine soup.

4) Delay senescence and retain freshness - Before the harvest of celery, spray on the whole plant with 5-10mg/kg of 6-Benzylaminopurine soup; after the harvest of cauliflower, dip 5-20mg/kg of 6-Benzylaminopurine soup in the cauliflower root; before the harvest of broccoli or not long after the harvest of lettuce, spray on the whole field with 10-20 mg/kg 6-Benzylaminopurine soup; before the harvest of cabbage, spray on the whole field with 30mg/kg 6-Benzylaminopurine soup or spray and dip with the same concentration of soup after the harvest of cabbage, which should be stored at 5 degree Celsius.
