Bacillus thuringiensis Israelensis (Bti) kill mosquito larvae

Bacillus thuringiensis subsp. Israelensis (Bti) is a bacterium which occurs naturally in the environment. The Bti has been used for the spread of mosquito-borne diseases control since man first found it. It has a highly specific mode of action and effectively kills mosquito larvae. The parasporal crystal of Bti is the main insecticidal substance. After the mosquito larvae feed it, the parasporal crystal degrades and has a toxin active molecules binding to specific receptors under the action of intestinal alkaline brothers and special protease in the intestinal membrane, thus leading the insects to death due to poor feeding, paralysis, bowel perforation, hunger and sepsis. Bti will not provide extended control and re-treatment is required to control subsequent larval development.

Benefits:

1) It kills the mosquito larvae better for using sensitive strain.
2) It can be applied with conventional ground and aerial application equipment used for mosquito control.
3) It has no demonstrated adverse effects on birds, mammals, fish or other wildlife.
